'Reading an image - media codes'.

  1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the media codes you learned in the lesson:  Technical, Written or verbal, Symbolic or non-verbal, Narrative. Write a paragraph for each one exploring the way meanings are created using those media codes. The advert is monochromatic in nature which could have been used in order to highlight the darkness of 50 cents past or, alternatively to highlight the seriousness of the message that's  trying to be conveyed to its audience.This is further highlighted through the use of low key lighting.Having the outline of his face blend in with the black behind him could shadow how his fame was crafted by his crime ridden past hes almost one in the same with the darkness.Concerning the typography ' i am what i am' having the  writing be serif  adds an almost historical element to the advert, perhaps an indication that his history is not related to who he is now and that people can change alternatively, the use of 'i am what i am' as...

 Part 1: English  by Tarun Thind analysis 1) What meanings are the audience encouraged to take about the two main characters from the opening of the film? In the opening of the film the characters portray stoic/serious expressions and the viewers are made to assume them to be trouble makers based on their clothing style and the fact that the film is based in rural london. even without words the characters appear to be causing the homeless man distress in a way, we at first viewed to be torment.  2) How does the end of the film emphasise de Saussure’s belief that signs are polysemic – open to interpretation or more than one meaning? Newspapers Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read? I dont read any newspapers What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why? If i were to read a newspaper i would most likely flip to a page on celebrities as i would be able to know who and what its referencing or updates on london crime What sections do you never read, and why? Sections concerning the government and or bodybuilding as it just does not appeal to my interests  What kinds of stories do you usually read and why?  1. Why did you choose a level media? .Last year one of my friends did media for gcse and would avidly describe how fun the coursework was, me myself being asked to take part in a piece of it aswell. This greatly contrubuted to my overall choice although what cemented media as an a level for me was the fact that even though its hard, the coursework would be a nice break from my other subjects plus i love watching people analyse shows and movies so i was sure this is something i would enjoy. 2.
