for tour posters and music promotion. The image perhaps offers connotations of
vulnerability which subverts black male stereotypes in the media.
Q2 -Diversification means companies can embrace new technology and find new revenue
streams e.g. music industry and streaming
Q3 -Channel 4 reinvests any profits back into programmes – this raises quality and benefits
audiences.

they wish to engage with. This would suggest media is less likely to be damaging and
audiences have a high degree of control over their media consumption.

Gerbners cultivation theory suggested that watching TV over a long period of time will influence the ideas and perceptions of the audiences everyday life which could then lead on top mean world syndrome where the audience consumed so much TV that they believe the world is worse than it actually is due to the high demand for negative news to gain traction. For example, some people may avoid certain areas of London due to the mass amounts of stabbings and crime reported on the news believing that those areas are inherited and dangerous.
